{buzz buzz buzz} i went to see an Author Speak & Sign-His-Own-Books. it was crowded--many had to stand in the aisles, nooks & crannies. he made us promise not to record him &, in return, he promised us the "real" version of him. he was colorful, but he never seemed off-the-cuff. as if everything he was asked he had answered and all his answers were recorded in memory, recalled & replayed when he heard them again. he was real, just not in real-time. though i felt our collective presence was insignificant to what he spoke of, i am glad i went: he is one of those captivating personalities. i bet he was a treat to listen to on air.
